MICROFINANCE IN BOLIVIA

Evaluation of the microfinance market in Bolivia

In the framework of this project, a comparative analysis is made between the financial performance of the intermediation system in Bolivia with its social performance, the latter understanding its capacity for the inclusion of poor sectors of the population. Particular attention is paid to the performance of the microfinance sector to analyze the extent to which its high financial performance may have compromised its financial performance. For this, multivariate statistical techniques are used to elucidate indicators of both types of performance. This line of research has been presented at the 3rd Meeting of Bolivian Economists organized by the BCB and the 2nd Bolivian Conference on Development organized by INESAD, it is also part of the book Microfinance and Public Policies published by the ILO.
