Cluster CINTI

A cluster is a set of several interconnected computers, which give the illusion of being one with much more computing power. In the CINTI Cluster Project, 30 PCs were interconnected, divided into two sites, interconnected by high-speed switches, both interconnected with fiber optics. The cluster follows the Master-Slave model, where each of the sites has a master node and 14 slave nodes. The master nodes distribute computations to the slave nodes and take care of collecting the generated information.
An automatic installation system was developed, based on PXE technology that allows the installation of the entire cluster, being able to easily change the execution modules.
For the execution of applications, the Condor system developed at the University of Wisconsin, USA was used. The CINTI Cluster uses the Linux Ubuntu Open Source Operating System.
