Alejandro Vargas Sánchez is a distinguished academic and professional in corporate finance and portfolio management, with more than 20 years of experience in research, teaching, consulting, and university administration. He currently serves as Vice Rector of the La Paz Campus of the Bolivian Private University (UPB), from where he promotes academic development and excellence in financial education in Bolivia. He holds a PhD in Economics and Administration from UPB, a Master’s in Management with a specialization in Finance from EMI and Tecnológico de Monterrey, and is a CFA Charterholder. He has complemented his training with advanced studies in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applied to finance. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of SAFI Mercantil Santa Cruz, actively participating in strategic investment decision-making.
