Andrés Laguna Tapia, Ph.D.

Andrés Laguna-Tapia, PhD, is a doctor in the “Society and Culture” program of the Department of Cultural Anthropology and History of America and Africa at the University of Barcelona and has a master’s degree in Latin American Studies from the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and Pompeu Fabra. He has a degree in philosophy and letters from the Bolivian Catholic University “San Pablo”, has studied anthropology at the Free University of Brussels and Literature at the University of Buenos Aires. Together with different teams of journalists, he won the “Huáscar Cajías” Medal of the National Journalism Award, the National Journalism Award in the press category and, twice, the Plurinational Eduardo Abaroa Award in the cultural journalism category. Currently, Laguna-Tapia is director of the Research Center in Communication and Humanities and head of the Communication program at the Bolivian Private University in Cochabamba.
