Carlos has a PhD in Economics from UPB, with a master’s degree in Macroeconomics and another in Microeconometrics from La Sorbonne, in Paris, France. He began his career as a researcher at PNUD-ONU Bolivia and later at UPB, where he founded and directed the Center for Information Generation and Statistics (CEGIE), developed the Experimental Economics Laboratory, and led the Center for Economic and Business Research. He has coordinated research projects with international organizations such as the IDB, World Bank, COSUDE, Swedish Cooperation, and GIZ, as well as with national public institutions. He has several publications in national and international journals.
