
Juan Javier del Granado is a researcher at the Institute of Legal Research of UNAM and an honorary researcher at UPB. A specialist in private law, civil law, common law, and the economic analysis of law, he has combined mechanism design theory, teaching, and research in Latin America and the United States. He studied at the University of Chicago, pursued doctoral studies at Northwestern, completed his habilitation at Universidad Mayor de San Simón, and did postdoctoral work at Berkeley. He directed regional judicial training programs and civil and commercial codification projects. He is the author of legal works and a member of the Bolivian Academy of Language.
