Oscar holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and Genomics awarded by Lund University (LU), Sweden, with postdoctoral training at the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences (JIRCAS), Japan. His research focuses on plant genetic improvement assisted by molecular markers. At the same time, it focuses on the identification through genomic sequencing (NGS) of hard-to-detect microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, and other non-cultivable microorganisms.
