Gustavo Zárate has more than 20 years of experience in energy. He is an economist with a master's degree in Economic and Social Policies (Université Pierre Mendes France), a master's degree in Energy Economics and Law (University of Montpellier), and doctoral studies in economics at UPB. He worked at the French Petroleum Institute in Paris, UDAPE, YPFB, and AETN, and served as Director of Energy Planning and Integration at the Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Mission Officer at the French Development Agency, and Senior Business Developer in renewable energy for TotalEnergies. He currently leads the Economics program at UPB and is the coordinator of AFD's energy transition program.
