

Center for Research in Communication and Humanities
Description
The Research Center in Communication and Humanities (CIComH) was created for the purpose of developing research activities in the fields of communication and humanities, as well as offering specialized training, disseminating knowledge, and providing advanced services, in response to the challenges of the information society and the needs of the Bolivian context.
CIComH develops projects related to the use of Information and Communication Technologies in the analysis of social phenomena. Its research focus is predominantly qualitative and transdisciplinary, and it is framed within areas such as cultural studies, media analysis, political communication, and the philosophy of technology.
Research lines
Film studies: special attention to Bolivian cinema, with historical and thematic analyses, research on modes of production, distribution channels, and commercialization processes.
CIComH contributes to the academic training in communication and humanities of students, researchers, and faculty, promotes interinstitutional academic dialogue, and strengthens ties with national and international institutions that develop similar research lines.
