Phytochemical Research Center
Description
The Phytochemical Research Center (CIF) focuses on the validation and scientific assessment of the country's plant resources, generating technological knowledge that contributes to the sustainable use of these resources and the development of national industries.
Research programs
Metabolites Program: study of primary and secondary metabolites present in plant resources, analyzing their energetic, functional, pharmacological, nutraceutical, dyeing, and photoprotective properties.
Industrial Feasibility Program: evaluation of the industrial applicability of metabolites and their natural precursors, considering environmental sustainability and economic impact criteria.
Institutional focus
The CIF integrates scientific research and technological analysis to transform phytochemical knowledge into useful information for industry, promoting the responsible and sustainable use of plant biodiversity.
