Legal Research Center
Description
The Center for Legal Research of UPB (CIJ-UPB) is a pioneering center in the study and promotion of transformative law, with an emphasis on civil, commercial, financial, securities, and insurance law. This innovative approach positions CIJ-UPB as a unique academic unit, contributing original insights to the development of legal knowledge and the design of policies aimed at social and economic progress.
The research projects of CIJ-UPB aim to identify and propose solutions to the legal barriers that limit the region's economic growth. Among its main areas of study are the recodification of private law, bankruptcy and business restructuring legislation, securities market regulation, as well as the analysis of international commercial contracts and agreements.
In addition to research, CIJ-UPB carries out teaching and university outreach activities through the organization of seminars, workshops, and conferences, aimed at disseminating good legal and regulatory practices. These activities are directed at legal professionals, businesspeople, investors, and representatives of civil society interested in sustainable economic development.
CIJ-UPB is based on the principle that an appropriate legal environment is an essential condition for economic growth, the guarantee of rights, and the improvement of living conditions. Within this framework, it promotes cooperation between the public and private sectors and contributes to strengthening transformative law as a complement to social and economic constitutionalism and to international human rights systems.
