

Satellite Control and Monitoring Center
Description
The Satellite Control and Monitoring Center (COMS) is a unit dedicated to the acquisition, monitoring, and analysis of satellite data, with active participation in international space networks and projects. Its work strengthens space research, practical training in telecommunications, and global scientific collaboration from UPB.
Areas of work and application
Satellite monitoring and telemetry: data collection and satellite tracking through ground stations integrated into international networks.
Reception of satellite images: downloading images in real time for analysis, research, and support for different space missions.
Collaboration in space missions: support for international projects through networks such as SatNOGS and global organizations in the space sector.
Training and academic support: practical support in telecommunications for the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering program.
Space research: promotion and development of university research on topics related to space and satellite telecommunications.
Networks and partnerships
COMS is part of the global SatNOGS network (Satellite Networked Open Ground Station).
