Experimental Economics Laboratory
Description
The Experimental Economics Laboratory (LABEX) aims to understand people's behavior in depth and propose concrete solutions to specific problems, in order to make public and private strategies more efficient and contribute to social welfare.
LABEX research is based on behavioral economics and experimental economics. From behavioral economics, it analyzes how factors such as emotions, moral values, and social influences affect decision-making, often in a rapid and unreflective way. In this framework, LABEX studies the behavior of individuals and groups in controlled environments, through economic experiments with real incentives, allowing the design of behavioral interventions (nudges) that facilitate more efficient decisions.
Experimental economics, for its part, provides rigorous methodologies to identify causal relationships in social phenomena. Through randomized controlled trials, both in the laboratory and in real-world contexts, LABEX evaluates the effectiveness of public policies and business strategies before their implementation at a larger scale.
Services
Replication or implementation of economic experiments: adaptation of software and experimental protocols for execution at LABEX.
