The UPB inaugurated the STEM+ Olimpiadas La Paz 2026 at the Fernando Illanes De La Riva campus, kicking off a new edition of this space that promotes the development of scientific, technological, and creative talent in students from various educational institutions.
The opening day brought together students, teachers, families, and representatives of educational communities in a celebration of knowledge and innovation. Through this program, the UPB seeks to inspire new generations to explore STEM disciplines —science, technology, engineering, and mathematics— from a practical, collaborative, and real-world complex challenge-oriented approach.
The STEM+ Olimpiadas are designed as an experience that goes beyond academic competition. Over the coming weeks, participants will test their skills, develop innovative solutions, and strengthen fundamental skills for the future, such as critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to technological advances.
The inaugural ceremony, attended by university authorities, marked the beginning of a series of activities that will turn the campus into a meeting point for young people interested in science and technology. Throughout the program, students will have the opportunity to learn, experiment, and connect with a community that shares the curiosity to discover and transform the world through knowledge.
With initiatives like the STEM+ Olimpiadas, the UPB reaffirms its commitment to training future leaders in science, technology, and innovation, creating spaces that bring students closer to high-level learning experiences and strengthen the link between education and the challenges of today's world.
