
UPB took first place in the Hybrid and Innovation categories of the "Solar Rally" of the Bicentennial 2025-2026, covering more than 610 kilometers.
UPB achieved a historic result in the Bicentennial Solar Rally 2025-2026, by obtaining first place in both categories of the competition, whose final leg had Uyuni, Potosí as its destination.
In the Hybrid category, which corresponds to electric vehicles with mechanical assistance, the STRAHL team defended its current champion title, once again demonstrating the technical level and the strength of the educational work promoted by UPB. In the Innovation category, intended for 100% electric vehicles, the MACH 10 team from Campus La Paz took first place in an outstanding performance with its new vehicle, while the team from Campus Cochabamba took second place, completing an outstanding result for the institution.
The competition started from Cochabamba, continued to Sucre and Potosí, and culminated in Uyuni, covering more than 610 kilometers, becoming the longest edition held to date. The route represented a high-level technical and logistical challenge for all participants.

Renán Orellana, Head of the Electromechanical Engineering Program at Campus Cochabamba, along with their respective teams of faculty members and technicians, led the preparation process that made these results possible.
