UPB receives recognition for study on gender-based violence and school coexistence in La Paz

UPB participated in an event held at the British Embassy in Bolivia to highlight the collaborative work behind the study on behavioral sciences, discrimination, and gender-based violence in educational units in La Paz, together with national authorities and partner institutions.

The British Embassy in Bolivia was the setting for a recognition and appreciation event for the development of the study “Application of behavioral sciences to combat discrimination and gender violence in Educational Units of La Paz”, an initiative driven through joint work among academic institutions, public entities, and international cooperation organizations.

The event brought together representatives of the different institutions that made the execution of the study possible, among them the Ministry of Education and the District Educational Directorates of La Paz, whose support was essential to facilitate access and work in the participating educational units.

The event also included the presence of the British Ambassador in Bolivia, Richard Porter, and the Vice Minister of Higher Education, Ana Cárdenas, who highlighted the importance of promoting research aimed at generating evidence and applicable solutions in the educational field.

During the meeting, the value of interinstitutional collaboration was highlighted to address challenges related to school coexistence, discrimination, and gender violence through innovative approaches based on behavioral sciences. Likewise, the commitment of the participating institutions and the educational communities that contributed to the development of the study was recognized.

UPB reaffirms, through this type of initiative, its commitment to applied research and the generation of knowledge that contributes to strengthening policies and practices aimed at building safer, more inclusive, and more respectful spaces for girls, boys, and young people in Bolivia.
