Survey of Labor Demand Surveys of the Public, Private and Urban Area of the Main Cities of Bolivia

The study of the labor market consists of an analysis of the behavior of demand (public / private institutions and companies) and supply (of universities and technical institutes) around: i) the quantitative gap between the number of professionals that institutions demand per year and the supply of professionals generated by universities and technical institutes, ii) the gap between the professional competences that institutions require for their jobs and the professional competencies that universities and technical institutes form, iii) the influence on decisions made by high school seniors to choose a profession, among others.

The objective of this project is to design and carry out a labor demand survey directed to entities of the Public Sector, Private Sector and Non-Governmental Organizations of the Metropolitan area of the cities of the central axis of Bolivia (La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz), in order to evaluate how many staff these entities demand and what is the professional profile they require, so that it is possible to know what is the potential supply of human resources that requires the formation of the higher education system so that young people can be properly inserted in the labor market. Additionally, this information should be an input to evaluate the effects of labor policies (minimum wage, my first decent job, double bonus, among others) based on job search, creation and destruction models.
