Laboratory of Experimental Economics

The Laboratory of Experimental Economics (LABEX) is part of the Economic and Business Research Center (CIEE) of the Bolivian Private University (UPB). The LABEX seeks for the deep understanding of people behavior to improve the efficiency public and private strategies that contribute to social welfare. To do this, it studies the factors that influence the decision making of individuals or groups of people in a controlled environment, through economic experiments that use real incentives.

The LABEX begins its activities in January 2018 developing general experiment protocols and a recruitment system.

LABEX offers the following services to researchers, public policy makers and private companies:

  • Replicate or implement economic experiments: Adaptation of experiment’s software and protocols.
  • Design small-scaled experiments to verify and improve the effectiveness of policies or strategies, using tools of behavioral economics (nudging).
